     As a part of the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Family, I found it wasn't long after I started training that I started hearing people sharing their favorite healthy recipes.  There is such a wealth of ideas, knowledge and delicious health conscious recipes that I wanted to create a space where we could collect and share our favorites. I hope to eventually have contributions from many members of the Gracie Barra community.

     To start off let me introduce myself, my name is Kate and I am a blue belt at our local Gracie Barra club.  I am first off a great lover of good food and recently a convert to more health conscious choices.  I have been experimenting with my some of my favourite comfort foods and making small alterations to make them healthier without sacrificing flavour.  I am not a nutritionist or even a health 'nut' but I have come to believe strongly in REAL food.  When I can I buy local from our farmers and from grocery stores that sell local produce.  So mostly what you will see from me is everyday family cooking and baking.


     Another one of our contributors is none other than Super Dave, one of the Black Belts at our club.  Not only is he a fantastic professor and jiu jitsu practitioner, he is our resident Smoothie Master.  Dave grows many of his smoothie ingredients right in his very own backyard.  I am sure he will end up contributing more than just smoothie recipes but these will be the first we try to get on here - as he is always being asked to share them.
